New Router Table Fence
Well, I made my decision on my previous post and decided to buy the Incra router table fence to make the drawers for the desks. Totally necessary? No, but should make this and future projects easier and I too know a good opportunity to buy a tool when I see one.
I bought the Incra LS positioner (see http://www.incra.biz/Products/LSSuperSystem.html) and once it arrives and is installed on my router table I will sell my current like-new 36" Bench-Dog ProFence to help to defray the cost. If anyone is interested in buying it before it goes to e-bay, email me an offer.
I have already extended the back of my router table to allow for the mounting of the Incra jig (it requires a lot of room behind the bit), and the table is now ready to go.
I will post my opinion of the Incra once I have had time to experience it.

Was there any specific shortcoming or feature that made you abandon the Bench Dog Pro?

The BenchDog fence is excellent and I would highly recommend it. The only reason that I am trading it is that I wanted the "incremental positioning" feature that the Incra fence offers (I'd recommend that you read their website as I will not describe it well). I am no idea yet if this "incremental" feature is worth it yet since the Incra is the only fence that I am aware of that offers it....it might be just another gadget, but I have to try. The BenchDog is a top-notch "traditional" router-fence.

I'll look forward to your assessment of its worth. Somewhere down the line, a router table is on my list of "build this" projects. At that time, I'll be considering fence options using a classic price vs. functionality assessment, and hoping you will have weighed in. Don't worry: there are plenty of projects ahead of that one ;)
